There are some theories that dreaming is when our brain cells process the day & make sense out of it.

Certainly it’s necessary, not dreaming can cause serious problems!

      Hi there,
Scientists are still a little baffled by many aspects of how and why we dream despite doing sleep and dream studies for decades now. We still aren’t 100 percent sure about why we sleep, or exactly how and why we dream.
Some research, which I am a fan of, think that dreams are tied to how we form memories or process emotions – its like during the day we have lots of papers on the desk we are reading and at night we file the papers away…and that filling process is our dreaming.
