      I am a biologist and don’t know all about physics, but I’ll try to answer this question anyway.

      Usually when light waves are reflected, they go back the same way they came but depending on the angle of the reflecting surface they might go off in a different direction. They should lose some energy on impact, so the light waves coming back off a reflective surface should be less strong than the ones going in.
