      Hi luladog!
It has a lot of scientific equipment on it that allow us to map the seafloor very accurately and also has equipment to measure how fast flows on the bottom of the ocean go. Its a robot submarine so we tell it where we want it to go and it sinks and takes lots of measurements before coming back to the surface, where we pick it up and put it on the research ship.
Using it we looked at an undersea river in the Black Sea near turkey. If flowing on land this river would be the 6th largest in the world! You can read about that here: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/earth/environment/7920006/Undersea-river-discovered-flowing-on-sea-bed.html
