• Question: If it came to the point, that the sun were son to emerge into its Red-Giant phase, what is the current plan of action to survive? what ideas have you come up with that explain what happens to planets after their local stars die?

Fortunately the Sun isn’t going to become a red giant for five billion years, so we don’t really have to worry too much about it. If it did though we’d be in trouble, as the Earth would either be swallowed up or melted. In fact I’m studying a planet now that may have had part of its mantle melted off by a red giant!
But there are plenty of things that threaten us now, like meteorite impacts. I think we should aim to have people on more than one planet, permanently, as soon as possible, just in case something bad happens to Earth. You may want to look up SpaceX, who are planning on starting to colonise Mars with that in mind.
