• Question: What is the reason that the wind has no shadow but we do

      Hi there,
      The wind can have a shadow if it is carrying something – like a tornado that carries debris, that can cast a shadow if there is light shining onto it. Normally when people talk of wind shadow however they are talking about the shelter maybe an object has – for example, there is a wind shadow downwind of a wind turbine – where the wind is a bit slower because some of the “winds energy” has been taken by the turbine…that is why wind turbines are not that close together

      Generally, we have a shadow because the atoms in us are packed in close enough to block out some of the light from the sun. The wind is just air, moving fast and the atoms in air are arranged far apart so they hardly block any of the light from the sun.
